The period listed by Joe Patterson et al. in his recent alert e-mail,
is gratifying to see. This period agrees well with that observed
at minimum for AL Com as reported in PASP 1988 100, 224, PASP
1989, 101, 899. and IBVS No. 3653. The minimum light curve of AL Com
is indeed an odd beast and a magnetic nature for AL Com has been
suggested as a possible explaination. It may be similar to such behaviour
seen in systems like TW Vir or SW UMa.
