CY UMa We obtained some time-resolved CCD photometry on two occasions during the past superoutbursts (1991 Dec. and 1993 Mar.). A preliminary period analysis has yielded the best estimate of the superhump period of 0.0724 +/- 0.0005 day. However, this value still has relatively large uncertainty because of short baselines, which did not exceed two days. (T. Kato et al. in preparation; please note that the period given in VSOLJ Var. Star Bull. had a large error owing to unavoidable errors in visual observations) The present probable superoutburst of CY UMa would provide one of the best chances to refine the superhump period. Observations are therefore highly encouraged. UV Gem Another poorly known dwarf nova, UV Gem, is caught in outburst by M. Iida by his CCD monitor (see vsnet-obs message). Regards, Taichi Kato
