- Subject: [vsnet-alert 3] Rare Outburst of EF Peg
Visual magnitude estimates by P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, Germany:
EF PEGASI (UGSU)
Jan. 5.732 UT, (13.0 ; 11.726, 11.1 ; 11.740, 11.1 ; 11.744, 11.1 ;
Sequence: The Astronomer = TA (mpv)
Instrument: 203-mm SCT
This is only the third ever visually observed outburst of EF Peg.
Previous outbursts of this SU UMa-type dwarf nova were detected by me
on 1991 Oct. 15 (supermaximum) and on 1992 July 7 (normal outburst?);
both outbursts were confirmed by Gary Poyner.
Regards,
Patrick
P.S.:
In 1991 October EF Peg and V1251 Cyg were also undergoing superoutbursts
almost simultaneously (as seen from the Earth).
