[vsnet-recent 2739] Apparent bright Sn in ngc3705

Dear friends:

On Dec 19 1998 at 4:38:08am I have detected a new bright m=12.1 star in
ngc3705 at the following position:

RA: 11h 30m 7.1s
Dec:	+9d 16m 39.8s

about 5" W and 3" N from galaxy nuclei.

Promiod Observatory, Chatillon, AO, Italy
SCT 12" @ f/6.2 (with focal reducer)
MX9 unfiltered CCD (Q.E. peak at 520nm), 60 sec exp.

No star is visible in Vickers book, Carnegie Atlas and DSS images in the
reported position measured with Astrometrica and USNO-SA1.0 (see attached
images)

Bad weather forecast would not allow to take further images on coming
nights at Promiod.

Your help and cooperation are kindly requested. Thanks in advance.

Best regards
