[vsnet-outburst 5691] Re: NSV09923 outburst?

Hi Rod,

I do not have any previous knowledge of this star, but made a chart from the DSS2/red.

The starregion centered on the coordinates of NSV 09923 was imaged.

A star has obviously brightened. Its position is somewhat South of the one given by the SIMBAD database. It's difficult to estimate the brightness but it could be around magnitude 14CR (compared to about 16 on the DSS image).

Tomorrow, we'll know more. Astrometry and a lightcurve (the star was monitored through different levels of cloud over a period of nearly 2 hours) will be communicated.

Regards and good luck with the find,
