<A message similar to the one below was bounced by my mail provider two nights ago. I\'m resending it.> Dear colleagues, A quick update on my earlier message regarding the announcement of the SU UMa type nature of DM Dra. On 2001, Nov 14/15, I accumulated 4.1 hours of CCD observations (269 datapoints), clearly revealing the presence of genuine, single-peaked superhumps with an amplitude of 0.36 mag, and a period of 0.0734 +/- 0.0030 d (PDM technique). This value substantially differs from the one obtained by Howell et al. during quiescence (i.e. 125 min). The above observations firmly establish DM Dra as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. Full information is available at http://vsnet.lunarpages.com/cbabelgium To further refine the superhump period (longer baseline) and to study the evolution of the outburst development, I would recommend this object to receive sufficient attention from other observers worldwide Thanks to Timo Kinnunen for his prompt notification of the outburst. Kind regards, Tonny Vanmunster From CBA Braeside Observatory at Flagstaff, Arizona ------------------------------------------------------------------ This mail sent through Wanadoo WebMail: http://webmail.wanadoo.be/
