It was recently reported on IAUC 6748 (9/26) that the blazar PKS
0422+004 was experiencing an exceptionally bright outburst. My
observation follows:
Oct. 10.44 UT at mag. 13.9 (AAVSO U Gem seq.)
I've kept a close eye on other submitted observations but have not
seen this one reported yet on vsnet. Has anyone else made an
estimate of its brightness? The coordinates are 04h 24m 47s,
+00 36.1. The field is in southern Taurus just north of the Eridanus
border.
Clear, steady skies!
Bob King
