We have received reports from different observers that alpha
Cyg (Deneb)
looks slightly fainter than usual. Could someone confirm?

Taichi:
I cannot confirm the possible fading of alpha Cyg. I visually compared alpha Cyg to Vega, Altair, and gam Cyg. I estimate alpha Cyg at V=1.3 on 05/09/2003 10:00UT using these comparison stars. SIMBAD gives V=1.25 for alpha Cyg.
