[vsnet-obs 44636] XTE J1807-294 optical observation



In search of the optical counterpart

The presently active millisecond pulsar XTE J1807-294 (IAUC 8113) was
observed with the unfiltered CCD camera at the Bronberg Observatory in
South Africa on 12 April 2003.

Inspection of a stacked image centered on the position given in ATEL#
122 showed no new object inside an area of 1 arcmin around the reported
position to a magnitude of 17.0CR.

The actual limiting magnitude of this image is around 18.0CR, but the
superdense MW field does not allow to ascertain inspection fainter than
17CR.
