In search of the optical counterpart The presently active millisecond pulsar XTE J1807-294 (IAUC 8113) was observed with the unfiltered CCD camera at the Bronberg Observatory in South Africa on 12 April 2003. Inspection of a stacked image centered on the position given in ATEL# 122 showed no new object inside an area of 1 arcmin around the reported position to a magnitude of 17.0CR. The actual limiting magnitude of this image is around 18.0CR, but the superdense MW field does not allow to ascertain inspection fainter than 17CR.
