The following recent visual observation of Delta Scorpii is as follows:

We are having observing problems here at present. There have been extensive
bushfires over large areas with resultant thick smoke in many regions of
Australia, due to a long spell of hot and very dry conditions. We have had
many days, such as today, when the sky has been full of smoke haze here in
Melbourne and this has strongly dimmed the stars, making many observations
impossible. Only the brightest stars are visible to the naked eye.
