SN2003ad 20020214.0 <200:C Puc
SN2003ad 20030203.47 178C Puc
# A host galaxy of SN 2003ad (14:56:28.07, +45:21:09.2 (J2000.0),
# offset = 8"E, 4"S) is 2MASXi J1456273+452112, a small barred-spiral
# galaxy. The SN is superimposed on the outermost part of the disk.

The UCB team took spectra of three recent SNe on Feb. 4.
SN 2003X:
In [vsnet-campaign-sn 550] (Jan. 31):
>SN2003X 20021018.0 <190:C Bol
>SN2003X 20030128.25 170C Bol
>SN2003X 20030130.166 170:C Bol
>SN2003X 20030130.529 167:C SCH
>
># A host galaxy of SN 2003X (18:12:05.67, +29:09:17.3 (J2000.0),
># offset = 1"E, 4"S) is a tilted spiral galaxy UGC 11151. It is
># elongated in north-south direction, and SN is located at the edge of
># bright bulge region. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag
># about 16.7.
It is of type Ia, resembling SN Ia 1994D about a month after
maximum. It may be somewhat luminous than typical one.
SN 2003ab:
In [vsnet-campaign-sn 552] (Feb. 4):
>SN2003ab 20030411.0 <190C Bol
>SN2003ab 20030201.971 178C Bol
>SN2003ab 20030202.856 178C Bol
>
># A host galaxy of SN 2003ab (9:19:13.26, +48:58:09.1 (J2000.0),
># offset = 9"E, 4"N) is UGC 4930, a distant spiral (Scd:) galaxy.
># There is a bright (mag about 12) foreground star about 40" ENE of
># the nucleus of UGC 4930. The SN is located between this star and
># the nucleus. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about
># 17.1.
It is type II SN within a few weeks after the explosion.
SN 2003ac:
In [vsnet-campaign-sn 552] (Feb. 4):
>SN2003ac 20020517.3 <195:C KAI
>SN2003ac 20030107.5 189:C KAI
>SN2003ac 20030120.4 189:C KAI
>SN2003ac 20030202.5 189:C KAI
>SN2003ac 20030203.4 189:C KAI
>
># A host galaxy of SN 2003ac (12:21:47.35, +25:52:33.1 (J2000.0),
># offset = 23"E, 31"S) is IC 3203, an edge-on spiral (Sb) galaxy. It
># is superimposed on the disk. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia
># is mag about 16.6, but the reported magnitudes suggest that it may
># be of type II in its plateau phase.
It is also of type II. They add the resemblance with SN II 1987K.
