V854 Centauri is fading more rapidly than usual from a long lasting maximum
of the last pulsation cycle.
It is too hasty to send an alert on a real fading but keep an eye on it this
week to see if it stops or a new obscuration event is about to start.
The fading that started on July 14, 2000 was first detected as a "normal but
faint" pulsation cycle that started with a steep fall like the current one
from 7.1 to 7.6.
So be alert.
Sebastian.
