Yesterday I sent a message to vsnet-obs but not to chat. So here I am again, astonished by the strength of the brightening of L2 Puppis (first reported by Peter Williams and Raquel Shida). There has been several periods in action resulting in a strange-shaped lightcurve (see http://ar.geocities.com/varsao/Curva_L2_Pup.htm) but now it looks like those periods are acting up together giving this impressive result: the star is rising more than 0.1 mag. a day !! My last observation is: PUPL2 20020418.986 54 OSE Already reported observations were: 20020403.993 68 20020406.014 66 20020417.973 55 The star hasn't been this bright since June 2000.
