SN2002by 20020225.0 <180:C CHA
SN2002by 20020331.02 145C CHA
# The host galaxy of SN 2002by is ESO 139-G34, in which the expected
# maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 15.5. According to IAUC
# 7866, the CTIO spectrum (only blueward) shows that the new object is
# indeed a supernova, possibly of type I. The position of SN 2002by
# is: R.A. = 17h50m18s.58, Decl. = -59o33'51".6 (2000.0), which is
# about 25" west and 13" south of the center of ESO 139-G34.
# IAUC 7865 informed a possible SN in NGC 7714 detected on the
# infrared image taken on 1998 Sept. 5.4. The KAIT images from 1998
# Oct. 22 don't show this object.
