The symbiotic variable V2523 Oph (= HEN3-1341 = GSC 6236.0636) was imaged several times during the present observing season. The star seems to have declined somewhat from the maximal values observed by Berto Monard in March and April 2000. I also note that the V-R colors I've recorded ( +0.5- +0.6) are among the 'bluest' yet measured for any of the symbiotic stars on my observing program: OPHV2523 20010508.245 11.43V OCN OPHV2523 20010513.286 11.51V OCN OPHV2523 20010513.289 10.99Rc OCN OPHV2523 20010608.206 11.49V OCN OPHV2523 20010608.209 10.89Rc OCN OPHV2523 20010720.179 11.70V OCN OPHV2523 20010720.182 11.06Rc OCN OPHV2523 20010828.052 11.66V OCN Tycho-2 reference star: GSC 6236.0790 at 11.228VT and B-V: +0.467 Best regards, Steve O'Connor Montreal, Canada.
