Hi Dave:
Finaly, last evening was rare for these days, a
clear and cool night for some SNe imaging. Attached is a "close-up" image
I took for SN2001dl, with the LX200 12" at f/10 with the ST9E. The
magnitude seems to be holding around 16.6 so the next few days may be optimum
for observations. Sorry that I still dont
seem to be able to get images into my so called "home page". I am working
on this, but other demands on my time have priority.
I was not aware that a new SN, 2001do was in
UGC11459, but if this evening is also clear, I will make a try and get out for
this too. This SN is very close to the galaxy center, buy the LX200 12"at
f/10 and ST9E may be able resolve it.
SN2001dp, the newest SN in NGC 3953, is
probably down in the trees at this time of year, for my observing site, but will
check it anyway if the weather holds and
there is a window through the branches. I did take a nice image of this galaxy, in May of last
year, for my database. It is a rather nice face-on spiral with lots of
detail. I have also enclosed the image, for you to compare with any SNe shots
you might get submited for the website.
Best Regards;
