Note: The observation of Betelgeuse (Alpha Ori) was made in full
daylight
with the computerized 10-inch reflector. I compared a defocused image
of
Alpha Ori with equally defocused images of the comparison stars (Alpha
CMi
  and Gamma Ori).

Observer: GRL = Bjorn H. Granslo (Haagaar Observatory, Eina, Norway).
Instruments: 25.4-cm f/6 reflector and 7x50 binoculars. Observations
are
  Pogson step estimates (1 step = 0.1 mag., i.e. 1174-2 means variable
0.2 mag. fainter than compasison star of mag. 11.74). Mostly clear,
there was a considerable auroral display during the evening of April
13.

                                           Yours sincerely,
                                           Bjorn H. Granslo
