[vsnet-obs 32151] V4018 Sgr Decline

Further to vsnet-symbio 122 (04 Feb 2001), listed below are my observations
of V4018 Sgr from October 1999 through to end October 2000. The year 2000
observations appear systematically fainter than those of Berto Monard but
suggest a gradual decline may have commenced during 2000. I have been
using the V mag sequence shown on VSS RASNZ chart 1140 for the nearby nova
V4169 Sgr. This is the faintest this V4018 Sgr has been since I commenced
regular observation in June 1994, its usual range being between mags 11.7
and 12.1, occasionally dipping to 12.3. An improved sequence nearer to
V4018 Sgr would be beneficial should this star continue to decline.
