Regarding Favre's new variable in Taurus:
The object 'TAUvarFavre' refers to Didier Favre's nova suspect
which turned out to be a new red variable star. I attempted to
observe it but was not able to see it to the quoted limiting
magnitude. I used Bruce Sumner's sequence which is based on CCD
photometry Arne Henden. It is available from
www.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet/Mail/vsnet-sequence/msg00043.html

Observer:
GRL = Bjorn H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norway). Instruments: 203-mm
SCT, 7x50 binoculars. Partly cloudy to clear. First favourable
night for more than two months.
