In this image, taken on October 20, 2000 at 1:30 UT, I estimate the
magnitude of the supernova to be 17.3. However, this is a difficult
one to measure because it is so close to the core of the galaxy.
As it turns out we had an earlier image of NGC 282, 283, etc. I also
took an image of some of the other galaxies in the Pisces Chain, but
we're missing several of them. Perhaps we'll try this group (Arp 331)
with a focal reducer to see if we can get the entire group plus the SN
in a single image.
