[vsnet-obs 3817] Re: UV Cas (RCB)

-- [ From: John Isles * EMC.Ver #2.3 ] --

UV Cas is relatively inactive, with the only recorded minima I know of having
been in 1913 and 1973. See an article in AFOEV Bulletin 17, 1981. I remember
the 1973 minimum, which was first detected by Peter Hornby of the BAA, and
reported by me in IAUC 2591; a photographic light curve by Tempesti appeared in
IBVS 1036 (1975). (I have not made a complete literature search; these are
just a few references found using my card index.)

Best wishes -- John Isles.

Though I am not certain, I remember UV Cas experienced faint states only
twice since its discovery. The last remarkable one was around 1970 (?), which
is not covered by both compilations of the AFOEV and the VSOLJ.

   Does anyone know more details?
