FX Cep [UGSS?, 15.0p - 17.5p]

The little studied CVAP object FX Cep has been detected in outburst
by Tonny Vanmunster, CBA, Belgium, using a 25-cm f/6.3 SCT with
ST-7 CCD. Confirmation has been obtained from Eric Broens, Mol,
Belgium (visually) :
1996 Sep 03.829 UT, [16.4 (T. Vanmunster, unfiltered CCD image);
Sep 04.953 UT, [14.6 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl., visual);
Sep 05.819 UT, 15.0 (T. Vanmunster, unfiltered CCD image);
Sep 05.838 UT, 14.7 (E. Broens, 0.35-m refl., seq: GSC);
Sep 05.856 UT, 15.1 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl., visual);
FX Cep was last seen in outburst on 1996, Aug 1, by T. Vanmunster
(unfiltered CCD image) and Gary Poyner, Birmingham, UK. It was
a very faint and short outburst.
We refer to CVC 51 for some interesting historical data
about FX Cep, and for a discussion on its possible classification.
