The following observations indicate that Omicron Cet (Mira) is
brightening rapidly:

Comparison stars (letter identifications are due to BAA.VSS,
  V magnitudes are from Hipparcos catalogue): 1=4.61 (Ksi Psc);
  N=5.36 (75 Cet); S=6.34 (71 Cet); T=6.50 (HIP 10854); U=7.20
  (HIP 11218); W=8.06 (HIP 10885); Y=9.00 (HIP 10987).

Observer: GRL = B. H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norge). Instruments:
  70-mm refractor (L70); 7x50 binoculars (B7x50). Observations
  are Pogson step estimates. The first three observations were made
  from Lanzarote, Canary Islands.
