SS Cyg outburst (Linnolt) From: "Mike Linnolt" <mlinnolt@alum.mit.edu> Date: Sun, 9 Jul 2000 04:43:12 -1000 Subject: SS CYG in Outburst at July 09.5937 - Notify Satellite observers I made the following observations from Oahu, HI. Instrument was 20cm f/4.5 Newtonian reflector at 70/40x. Conditions: Some Moonlight, Some Light pollution. VAR Date/Time Estimate Comparisons --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2138+43 SS CYG Jul 09.3500 10.9 sscyg-c 11.0 10.9 2138+43 SS CYG Jul 09.5389 10.5 sscyg-c 10.3 10.9 2138+43 SS CYG Jul 09.5937 10.2 sscyg-c 10.3 10.4 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparently SS CYG has broken through the threshold magnitude a weekend though, may present a problem if this is not read until Monday? Unfortunately, I do not have the direct email for the satellite team to notify them immediately. Hopefully, someone at VSNET may be able to relay this ASAP.
