1918+04 V1494 AQUILAE (Nova Aql 1999 No. 2)
Recent observations by Norwegian observers in VSNET format:
Object YYMMDD(UT) Mag Obs Notes
AQLV1494 000103.700 79 SOV 7x50B; Est. 3-1;4=V
AQLV1494 000104.701 80 SOV 7x50B; Est. 3-2;4=V
AQLV1494 000116.694 84 GRL 203-mm SCT (100x). See note [1]
Note [1]: Estimate 5=V;6+3 (class 2). Nova seen at a very low
altitude, but magnitude estimate should be fairly accurate. Limiting
magnitude was only ~9.0 due to low altitude, twilight and poor
seeing. This was probably the last evening observation of this nova
for several months.
Magnitudes deduced using the TA/NAS.VSS sequence with V magnitudes
from the Hipparcos and Tycho catalogues.
Observers (AAVSO code, name, and observing location):
GRL = Bjorn H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norway).
SOV = Oddleiv Skilbrei (Honefoss, Norway).
Yours sincerely,
Bjorn H. Granslo
