I have put J-band (1.2 micron) images of the host galaxies and these
two supernovae at my website:
http://vsnet.astro.washington.edu/kevin/apo.html
Since J is just beyond the optical portion of the spectrum, these
images may help others identify the SNe.

Near infrared photometry by Kevin Krisciunas (Univ. of Washington)
and Karen Loomis (Apache Point Observatory), 27 Dec 1999 (UT),
using the APO 3.5-m telescope and the facility infrared imager GRIM II.
Filters: J = 1.2 microns, K' = 2.1 microns (see Wainscoat and Cowie 1992,
Astron J, 103, 332 for a description of this filter)
SN 1999go (in NGC 1376):
27 Dec 1999, mean UT 01:04, J = 15.25 +/- 0.04, K' = 14.80 +/- 0.06

SN 1999gp (in UGC 1993):
27 Dec 1999, mean UT 01:39, J = 15.92 +/- 0.07, K' = 15.05 +/- 0.08
Note that the SN is *not* the brighter foreground star just north
of this galaxy's core. The SN is north and west of the core, in the
plane.
