New variable star discovery by the MISAO Project (MisV0481).

  Type  SR?
= IRAS 17555-2812  R.A.=17 58 41.16  Decl.=-28 12 25.7  (32 x 5", p.a.=91)  flux(12)=4.35  flux(25)=2.07  flux(60)=<17.91  flux(100)=<218.60  16% variable

It was detected by the PIXY system as one of the candidates of new
variable stars from images taken by KenIchi Kadota, Ageo City,
Saitama, Japan, then confirmed by Seiichi Yoshida.

The spectral type is M8III (Buscombe W., "Twelveth General Catalogue
of MK Spectral Classification", Northwestern Univ., Evanston,
Illinois, 1995).
