We had a look at the nova suspect, on 24 August 1999 at 19h00 UT, in =3D =
Johannesburg, South Africa, and estimated it to be at approximately 8.5 =
=3D mag.
We used Guide Catalog, which gives the star to the south at 9.1 mag.
