Dear friends,
The following variable star has been found in Aquila. There were only three
DSS images available to me; the star is faint on POSS-E Red Plate XE572
(Epoch 1950.612) and Quick-V Northern Plate N572 (Epoch 1982.565); it appears
much brighter on POSS-II Red Plate XP737 (Epoch 1992.588). To judge from
the large amplitude, it could be a Mira star; however, I do not know the
colour of the object. It is absent in IRAS, USNO-A2.0 and GSC. The possibility
of a starlike plate flaw superimposed on the star image on XP737 can not be
completely ruled out, until another maximum is known.
