* confirming that this nova is still bright in the visual (scotopic)
wavelength region, as T Kato did explain sometime ago! This and other
observations of this nova were made using the nearby reference stars
measured by A Henden in 1998, specifically those with magnitudes 12.3
and 12.5. These stars are reddish with B-V around 1.8 which makes them
look quite fainter than whitish stars of the same magnitudes.
Perhaps observations of this nova with photopic vision (no dark
adaptation) would render fainter magnitudes for it as the comparison
stars would look relatively brighter.......
