[vsnet-obs 2871] OUTBURST OF VAR21 CrB ?

Dear Colleagues,

I have obtained a sequence of CCD images of Var21 CrB (the newly discovered
dwarf nova in CrB) last night, which presumably show the object in outburst !

However, the object does not appear exactly on the position as indicated on
the recently released VSNET chart. In fact, the suspected candidate is visible
approx. 1.3' S of that position.

Given this uncertainty, I have decided not to issue a CVC (although Var21 CrB
will be added to the CVAP). I need some confirmation first (preferably by
CCD observers, since the full moon will trouble visual observers too much).

Here are some further details of selected -unfiltered- CCD images, which
tend to illustrate the variable nature of the suspected candidate :

    1996 May 29 23h22m UT, 15.3 (comp 1320, VSNET chart)
         May 29 23h45m UT, 15.6
         May 30 01h19m UT, 15.3
         May 30 02h07m UT, 15.9

Kind regards,
