BAA.VSS VULWW 981023.83 10.7 GRL C203;100x Seq. AFOEV Notes concerning the outburst of IP Pegasi: The observations (all of class 2) are Pogson step estimates and listed under the remarks column. They were timed to the nearest 0.5 minute (i.e. accuracy +/- 15 seconds = 0.0002 days) and sampled every 4-5 minutes during eclipse. Comparison stars (idenfications and V-magnitudes from BAA.VSS chart 186.02c): C=12.55, D=12.72, I=12.81, F=13.67, G=13.89. It should also be noted that unfiltered CCD-observations have been made from Haagaar observatory in August-September but they have not yet been reduced. Observers: GRL = Bjorn H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norway). Instruments: 20.3-cm SCT (C203), 70-mm refractor (L70). AAVSO sequences unless noted. Conditions: Clear sky on Oct 20-21; clear and transparent, but windy on Oct 23-24. HSY = Stein Hoeydalsvik (Tromsoe, Norway). Instruments: 60-mm refractor (L60), 7x50 binoculars (B7x50). Notes: Observations of class 2 on 1998 Oct 11 due to low altitude. Class 2 observations on Oct 18 and Oct 20 due to strong auroral light. AAVSO sequences unless otherwise noted.
