Hi,
I assume most visual observers of this SN relate their estimates to sequences provided on the AAVSO chart.
I wonder if I am the only one but I 'feel' there is a larger than 1.2 v magnitude difference between the 11.4 and 12.6 stars on the map. I think it is more likely in the region of 2 full magnitudes.
Comparing SN 1998bu to star 11.4 , I tend to estimate it as 12.2, when comparing it to star 12.6, the estimate would be around 11.6 . I don't believe my neural 'gain setting' is that far out...or is it?
Regards,
Berto Monard
