Observers:
DAH = Haakon Dahle (Honolulu, HI, USA). Instrument: 25.6-cm reflector.
Sequences for SN 1998bn, SN 1998Sm SN 1998aq and SN 1998bu were GSC
(via AAVSO chart), Hanzl CCD-V (via NAS.VSS), GSC (via AAVSO) and
Thompson & Bryan (AAVSO), respectively. Comparison stars for 1998bn
were a = GSC 6682-0729, b = GSC 6682-0861, c = GSC 6682-0006.
All observations were of class 1 which refer to the accuracy of the
brightness estimates, not the magnitudes of the comparison stars.
GRL = Bjorn H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norway). Instruments: 20.3-cm SCT
(C203), 7.0-cm f/6.8 refractor (L70), 10x50 binoculars (B10x50).
AAVSO sequences unless noted. Observation of X Per from Tryvann,
Oslo in bright twilight, others from Fjellhamar. Conditions:
clear to partly cloudy, nautical-astronomical twilight, Moon.
