Observers:
GRL = Bjorn H. Granslo (Fjellhamar, Norway). Instruments: 20.3-cm SCT
  (C203), 7.0-cm f/6.8 refractor (L70), 10x50 binoculars (B10x50).
  AAVSO sequences unless noted. Observed from Tryvann, near Oslo
  (May 8.88-8.89 UT in nearly clear sky) and Fjellhamar (others,
  partly cloudy). Nautical-astronomical twilight, Moon. I attempted
  to but was not able to see the new bright comet C/1998 J1 (SOHO)
  from Tryvann (for further information and reports on this comet
