Visual magnitude estimates by P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, Germany:
GO COMAE BERENICES (UGSU:)
Apr. 17.87 UT, (14.2 ; 19.87 , 13.8:
Sequence: VSNET
Instrument: 203-mm SCT
Suspected sighting on Apr. 19 (some haze).
The most recently observed outburst (a normal one) was detected by me
on 1997 Feb. 7 (mv= 13.7 on Feb. 7.194 UT).
The current outburst seems to be a little bit faint for a supermaximum
but for being sure we have to wait another one or two days.
Regards,
Patrick
P.S.:
On Sunday evening the sky was somewhat hazy (and cloudy), and after quite
a lot of difficult observations I had to take a nap. When I was out again
the transparency had improved but the western half of the sky was already
covered with thin clouds. So unfortunately an intended second observation
of GO Com was not possible. Throughout last night the sky was overcast.
