We have received the following report on SN 1995al for VSNET. ---------------------------------------------------------- Preliminary V-band Photometric Magnitudes of SN 1995al A super nova observing team at Osaka kyoiku University (K. Tanabe, S. Honda, K. Matsumoto, J. Arimoto, and K. Sadakane) began CCD photometric observation of SN 1995al on Nov. 3. We use a 50-cm reflector and an Astromed CCD camera equipped with broad band V, R, and I filters. We report here V-band magnitudes of the SN obtained on 18 nights before Nov. 28. Photometric magnitudes are obtained relative to a bright star (HD 85030) locating at about 15 arc min west of NGC 3021. Maginitudes and colors of HD 85030 (V = 7.940, B-V = 0.458, U-B = 0.136) are taken from McLaughlin (1986, Inf. Bull. Var. Stars, No. 2857). We observed this star on Nov. 16 and obtained V magnitudes of four comparison stars near NGC 3021 which range between 13.86 to 14.72. Maginitudes of the SN have tentatively been obtained by the aperture photometry method relative to these comparison stars. On each night, we obtain 6 to 10 images in each band and the estimated photometric accuracy is around 0.02 mag. Observations on each night were at around 18h to 20h (UT). V band magnitudes of SN 1995al listed below were obtained relative to the two brighter comparison stars. No color correction has been applied yet.
