[vsnet-obs 1598] V1143 Ori: still bright

Dear Colleagues,

We Ouda Team (now Taichi Kato observing) observed V1143 Ori on Nov.
24. The result gives us that this object is still bright than
quiescent state, however it already seems to pass its peak brightness.
However the observation in my alert message of vsnet-obs #1578 is
calibrated based on GSC magnitude, we re-calibrated absolutely about
the observation based on Nov. 21. The difference of magnitudes (=
1.44 mag, on Nov 17 and 21) is not changed, no matter what the
revision. The revision changes the origin of the magnitudes.

The nightly averaged differential magnitudes with V-band are listed
below :

      mid-UT dmag S.D. N
    ------------------------------
    951117.777 1.769 0.082 4 V
    951118.808 1.334 0.025 5 V
    951121.796 0.337 0.025 4 V
    951124.647 0.467 0.025 6 V

The magnitude of the comparison star is V=13.95 (vsnet chart).
So, the magnitude of this object on Nov. 24.65 is V~14.42 mag.

As Dr. Jensen wrote in vsnet-obs #1581, we also suggest that such a
considerable variation of magnitude indicates a "new" outburst. At
Nov. 17, the object is significantly faint on our CCD image, so that I
think the outburst at the end of October which is reported by Dr.
Jensen and the outburst at this time are different one.

We placed the PostScript-formatted finding chart of V1143 Ori at
following URL:

The GIF-formatted images based on our CCD images are also available at:

We encourge to monitor this object continuously.

Best Regards,
Hajime Baba ( at office ) and Taichi Kato ( at observatory )
