[vsnet-obs 1455] CVC 67 (DV Dra a/o)

DV Dra [UGWZ?, 15.0B - <21p]
============================

Makoto Iida, Nagano, Japan has detected an outburst of the most interesting
CVAP object DV Dra, as reported by M. Watanabe (VSOLJ) and T. Kato, Ouda
Observatory, Kyoto University, Japan. DV Dra is a suspected WZ Sge-type
dwarf nova, that was discovered as a new cataclysmic variable in 1984 by
Pavlov and Shugarov. The observation by M. Iida is the first ever detected
since the discovery of the variable, as we could derive from the "Outburst
Activity Database on Selected Cataclysmic Variables" [1].

DV Dra is located at R.A. = 18h17m24.98s, Decl.=+50d48'14.5" (J2000.0) [2],
and is included in Howell's list of suspected TOADs [3].

The following preliminary observations are available, and seem to indicate
that the object is on the rising branch of its light-curve :

1995 Oct 30.398 UT,  17.8 CU (M. Iida, 0.20-m refl.+CCD ST-6);
     Oct 30.405 UT,  17.5 CU (M. Iida);
     Oct 30.411 UT,  17.2 CU (M. Iida);

In IBVS 3626 [4], W. Wenzel presents a detailed analysis of the light-curve of
the June 1984 discovery outburst. The variable was found to be brighter than
about mag 17.3 B for at least 28 days, with a maximum brightness (mag 15.0 B) on
June 1st, 1984. On the basis of the shape and duration of the outburst, the 
scarcity of eruptions, and the distance to the galactic plane, W. Wenzel
concludes that DV Dra is a long-cycle dwarf nova, perhaps belonging to the
WZ Sge type.

It is evident that photometric follow-up observations are highly encouraged.

V630 Cyg [UGSU:, 13.4p - 17.2p]

Further to the outburst announcements in CVC 65 and CVC 66, additional
detection reports were received from Gary Poyner, Birmingham, UK and
J. Pietz, Erftstadts, Germany. The long duration of the present outburst,
which is summarized in the photometry table below, seems to indicate it
very likely concerns a superoutburst.

V632 Cyg [UGSS, 12.6p - 17.5p]

Jochen Pietz also reported an independent outburst detection of V632 Cyg
(see CVC 66). The photometric summary below concludes our monitoring of
the present outburst.

V1060 Cyg [UGSS, 13.5p - 18p]
=============================

V1060 Cyg apparently underwent an extremely long and bright outburst
(CVC 65), as one can easily derive from the table of observations below.
It now definitely seems to be on its return.

This dwarf nova is in its declining phase too.
