V729 Sgr outburst: eclipse ephemeris (and other info) According to Cieslinski et al. (2000) PASP 112, 349, this object is known to show shallow eclipses (in quiescence). The object is also suspected to be a Z Cam-type dwarf nova. Since there has been no known "typical" (i.e. short period) Z Cam stars with eclipses, V729 Sgr may provide an excellent sample to study a potential Z Cam-type accretion disk. Although there are enough competing target-of-opportunity objects in this area of the sky, we propose V729 Sgr as the second priority target for the VSNET Collaboration team (for southern observers, V877 Ara, see [vsnet-alert 7372] is apparently the best target of this time; V4641 Sgr also requires intensive coverage). [The Kyoto members are planning to cover both V4641 Sgr and V729 Sgr using multiple telescopes. We therefore recommend southern Pacific-area observers to devote your telescope to V877 Ara, at least until its nature becomes evident.] Eclipse predictions for V729 Sgr (times are UT, geocentric): 20020607 03:12:46 20020607 07:22:27 20020607 11:32:09 20020607 15:41:50 20020607 19:51:32 20020608 00:01:13 20020608 04:10:55 20020608 08:20:36 20020608 12:30:18 20020608 16:39:59 20020608 20:49:41 20020609 00:59:22 20020609 05:09:04 20020609 09:18:45 20020609 13:28:27 20020609 17:38:08 20020609 21:47:50 20020610 01:57:32 20020610 06:07:13 20020610 10:16:55 20020610 14:26:36 20020610 18:36:18 20020610 22:45:59 20020611 02:55:41 20020611 07:05:22 20020611 11:15:04 20020611 15:24:46 20020611 19:34:27 20020611 23:44:09 20020612 03:53:50 20020612 08:03:32 20020612 12:13:13 20020612 16:22:55 20020612 20:32:37 20020613 00:42:18 20020613 04:52:00 20020613 09:01:41 20020613 13:11:23 20020613 17:21:05 20020613 21:30:46 20020614 01:40:28 20020614 05:50:09 20020614 09:59:51 20020614 14:09:33 20020614 18:19:14 20020614 22:28:56 20020615 02:38:38 20020615 06:48:19 20020615 10:58:01 20020615 15:07:43 20020615 19:17:24 20020615 23:27:06 20020616 03:36:48 20020616 07:46:29 20020616 11:56:11 20020616 16:05:53 20020616 20:15:34 20020617 00:25:16 20020617 04:34:58 20020617 08:44:39 20020617 12:54:21 20020617 17:04:03 20020617 21:13:45 20020618 01:23:26 20020618 05:33:08 20020618 09:42:50 20020618 13:52:31 20020618 18:02:13 20020618 22:11:55 20020619 02:21:37 20020619 06:31:18 20020619 10:41:00 20020619 14:50:42 20020619 19:00:24 20020619 23:10:05 20020620 03:19:47 20020620 07:29:29 20020620 11:39:11 20020620 15:48:52 20020620 19:58:34 Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
