Hi All, A few people emailed me after the last NMO Digest to say they had been excluded from the observer totals. If you submit your reports monthly, they are not in the AAVSO quick look files in time for me to include them. Everything about the NMO group is based on timely submission of data to AAVSO, so we can determine the current status of stars from the quick look data. If your observations are not in the AAVSO quick look data they are not assisting the NMO project specifically. They will help in the creation of the next LPV Bulletin, but they do not contribute to the monthly assessment of the status of the NMO stars for the monthly planning tool. It is not my intention to slight the contributions of observers who submit monthly reports. If you submit nightly reports to VSNET only, your observations are not included in the AAVSO quick look data, and are not counted. I'm not trying to be a 'dictator', just explaining the game. With the availability of WebObs and PCObs, I don't know why anyone would still be doing it the "old fashioned way", but apparently there are some. We would be very happy to see more observers submitting nightly observations for our specific purpose. If you choose not to, please understand if your long term contribution is not recognized in the monthly digest for this project. Keep up the good work NMOers. More chart news looms on the horizon for some of these stars. Stay tuned! Mike Simonsen
