Re: [vsnet-chat 6938] New charts > These charts have new sequences. Please use these charts to observe these > stars. Please use as correct variable star names as possible. Write "FS And" not "FS AND". Since this has been already done in most cases in "27 New AAVSO Charts for 13 Objects", this measure must be perfectly feasible. Even if the AAVSO chart headers may write them differently, an announcement of new charts can follow the correct nomenclature. A few more recommendations in "27 New AAVSO Charts for 13 Objects": * PKS2155-30 : don't truncate -> PKS 2155-304 * 2344+514 : use the catalog identifier -> 1E 2344+514 * SN 2003HX : correct supernova name -> SN 2003hx * 3C 66A And : no need to use the constellation name -> 3C 66A (no other non-GCVS blazars are with the constellation name, already indicating that the constellation is not the absolute requirement of the AAVSO). We have received already sufficient number of name errors arising from this kind of mistaken use of object names (most frequently seen in supernova designations). This convention should be altered, at least begin with the newly released charts. Regards, Taichi Kato
