Re: V is V, and filters or not Dear Dan, > I refuse to communicate with > anyone on that level in a public forum, or in private for that matter. Okay, it is your preference whether or not you would like to communicate with someone, but please always bear in mind that you need to (or at least try to) confirm whatever you might want to post. Following your words, simply communicating with the VSNET HQ(?) whether "the VSNET has a validation process" would have avoided your invalidated statement. That would have been much better to all, including yourself and myself. > when in fact the >system needs an overhaul, the leaders should be looking to see why these >problems are coming up. Yes, I really wish the AAVSO should do this. I hope my analysis could help identifying the reason of the currently identified problems. > However the recent behavior of the leader of VSNET makes it impossible > for me personally to communicate with him. His intrusive and > inflammatory statements in public forums is not conducive to > collaboration or even communication. I don't see anything inflammatory happening..., rather we are trying to "heal" the old wounds. The action is more adequately referred to as anti-inflammatory :-) Whatever behavior you may be referring to, what the AAVSO has inherited from the VSNET has indeed been a propulsive power of the modern-day variable star community -- this is definitely a process in which "the world's variable star organizations should work together toward such a goal". The history has eloquently told. Regards, Taichi Kato
