I agree this is how it should be. The AAVSO has a full time staff who work hard to make the observer's reporting practices as clear and simple as possible, and will continue to do so. In practice the leaders of all the world's variable star organizations should work together toward such a goal. However the recent behavior of the leader of VSNET makes it impossible for me personally to communicate with him. His intrusive and inflammatory statements in public forums is not conducive to collaboration or even communication. I refuse to communicate with anyone on that level in a public forum, or in private for that matter. Hopefully VSNET can communicate with AAVSO HQ and the other variable star organizations with a more civil and communicative manner. Time will tell. Dan
