There is a field photometry file for SS UMi on my ftp site:
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/ssumi.dat
It was part of Henden/Honeycutt paper II, where you can see
the variable correctly identified. The coordinates from the
field photometry file are:
15:51:22.40 +71:45:12.0 J2000
which is reasonably close to the 2MASS position.
