Hello again, In spite of the weather and some of the regular contributors being stricken with influenza, observations for LPVs in the NMO list continue to come in. Thanks to the determination of these observers, there is an obvious trend in the number of stars with old or no data in the monthly planning tool. March 89 April 77 May 55 Most of these stars are coming out of conjunction with the sun or have been unfavorably placed for observing. The greatest numbers residing in Aqr, Cap, Gru, Mic, Scl, Sco and Sgr. Libra has been entirely removed from the list of constellations with poor or no coverage. The NMO Planning Tool files have been submitted to AAVSO HQ, and I expect they will be online by the first of May. CCD observations and field photometry are beginning to trickle in. Again, we encourage CCD observers to obtain positive observations of the NMO stars that are fainter than 13.5V. These stars can be gleaned from the NMO Planning Tool list, which is sorted by current observed magnitudes in the AAVSO Quick Look data. Regards, Mike Simonsen
