There is a paper online (Infrared observations of binary stars - I, 1980)by
Phillips, Selby, Wade and Sanchez Magro that takes the suggestion by Woolf
(1973) that the star might be an ellipsoidal variable (Ell) and not a true
(EA) eclipsing object.
However, the claimed eclipse duration and the current fading as predicted
are not in agreement with that suggestion...
