Merry Christmas and happy end of the year to all the observers.

I really can't ask for more from variable stars but if I had to choose...
let me see...
Yes, I agree with Fraser. I've always dreamed of eta Carinae exploding and
me being the first observer to catch it !!! ;-)))
Furhermore, in my dream I observed it when it was still 4.5 !!.....

My second option would be another Be star brightnening significantly. Omega
Orionis at 4.0 would be a nice change in Orion's figure, don't you think?
