HR Lyr was selected in the past (the literature I don't remember, probably
some 20 years ago?) as a candidate for a reccurent nova, based on the
small amplitude. The candidates included HS Sgr, V441 Sgr, V1016 Sgr etc.
None of them erupted again... The amplitudes of some of Sgr novae were
underestimated because of confusion with field stars. In the case of
HR Lyr, the minimum magnitude may have been affected by the proposed
third body -- the actual outburst amplitude may be larger.
