These two stars transit about 10 degrees above the horizon
from Flagstaff, so don't count on Henden observing them!
I agree that southern fields are in need of good photometry.
There will be at least one TASS camera down south, so with
luck we will have decent photometry down to GSC limits in the
near future. However, that doesn't prevent other groups from
doing all-sky calibrations now rather than later. You just need
photometric filters (V plus at least one other passband like B,R,I),
just about any telescope/CCD system, and a few photometric nights per year.
